In the aftermath of the crash involving flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London on June 12, Air India has cancelled 66 scheduled flights operated by its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) held a high-level meeting with executives from Air India and its subsidiary, Air India Express, following the incident.
According to an official statement released after the meeting, comprehensive inspections of Air India’s Dreamliner fleet were conducted, and the airline was found to be in compliance with current safety standards. While no major safety concerns were identified during the inspections, a significant number of Dreamliner flights were cancelled due to operational reasons.
